Exchange integration in 3 simple steps

In this week’s Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM Support video, we will be looking at how to set up Exchange 365 with Dynamics 365 for Sales.

Set up the email server profile

First, we need to make sure that the Email Server Profile has been set up.

1.) Go to Settings, then Email Configuration, then Email Server Profiles.

2.) Choose Active Email Server Profiles, and make sure Microsoft Exchange Online is on your list.

NOTE: If you don’t see Microsoft Exchange on your list, make sure you have an active Exchange Online subscription on the same tenant as your Dynamics 365 for Sales subscription.

Since we’re using Office 365 in our example, Exchange is already listed.

3.) If you have more than one Active Email Server Profile listed, click Microsoft Exchange Online and set it as your default.

Set up the mailbox

Next, we’ll set up the mailbox. We’ll click on Alicia’s name here since we’ll be setting this one up.

4.) Under Synchronization Method, we need to make sure that each one of them has been set to use Server-Side Synchronization or Email Router. Then click Save.

Enable the mailbox

Now, if this is the first time you’ve logged in to Dynamics 365 or the first time you’re setting up email, you need to:

5.) Click Approve Email, then click OK.

Once that’s approved, you need to enable the mailbox itself.

6.) Click Test and Enable Mailbox.

7.) Check the box “Sync items with Exchange from Dynamics 365 Organization only” and click OK.

The Test and Enable Mailbox is running now. This process can take anywhere from a minute to 15 minutes.

8. Click Save and Close.

Once the Test and Enable Mailbox has completed, you should see success for each option in your Active User Mailboxes.

If you see any failures, you will need to have a look at the alert and your audit history to find out what the issue is.
